Why Meghan Markle will 'envy' the royal family for their Christmas celebrations

Meghan Markle is expected to skip this year’s royal Christmas celebrations, and according to a royal expert, there’s one thing she’ll definitely miss.

As festive preparations begin at Sandringham Estate, reports suggest invitations have already gone out to members of the Royal Family, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not been included.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Express UK that Meghan, 44, “will certainly envy” the spotlight surrounding the royal festivities.

“Meghan, after a decidedly lacklustre year, will certainly envy the worldwide publicity the monarch’s Christmas message and the walk to St Mary Magdalene Church on Christmas morning will invariably receive,” Fitzwilliams said.

He added that this year’s royal Christmas will carry extra emotion, given King Charles’s health challenges and Princess Kate’s remission.
