Prince William to join Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan for rare military engagement

Prince William is set to team up with one of the world’s most admired young royals this week: Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan, for a rare public appearance celebrating their shared military roots.

The Prince of Wales, 43, will visit RAF Benson in Oxfordshire on Wednesday, where he’ll be joined by the Jordanian heir, 30, for a special engagement that highlights their long-standing friendship and mutual respect for the Armed Forces.

According to Kensington Palace, the pair will tour the base, meet with trainee aircrew and technicians, and learn more about ongoing global operations.

They’re also expected to inspect aircraft and speak with personnel from No. 22 Squadron and No. 28 Squadron, both of which operate from RAF Benson.

The event coincides with No. 22 Squadron’s 110th anniversary, adding an emotional layer for William, who previously served as a search and rescue pilot with the same squadron when it was based at RAF Valley in Wales.

The Crown Prince, meanwhile, is a trained helicopter pilot who completed his flight training with the Royal Jordanian Air Force in 2019 and now serves as a Major in the Jordanian Armed Forces.
