Kate Middleton made her feelings about Meghan Markle “crystal clear” during a key public moment in 2022, and it all came down to one subtle gesture.
According to body-language expert Judi James, the Princess of Wales appeared to “go into self-preservation mode” during the emotional Windsor walkabout that took place just days after Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
The walkabout, which saw Prince William, Kate, Prince Harry, and Meghan reunited for the first time in years, was meant to be a show of unity.
But, experts say, Kate’s demeanor told a different story.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, James said: “Kate appeared to use spatial behaviour and distancing to make her point about the group dynamics and her lack of desire to turn an homage to a dearly loved Queen into a soap-style drama.”
“Her body language suggested a very focused future Queen wanting to pay her respects to a late Queen with the same firmness and resolve that Elizabeth II was known for,” James noted.
