While the sister-in-laws once played nice in public, insiders claim tensions have been simmering for years, dating all the way back to a bridesmaid dress bust-up before Meghan and Harry's 2018 wedding.
Fast forward to today, and it seems royal watchers are making their loyalty clear, with a social media showdown that’s hard to ignore.
According to the latest Instagram stats, Kate and William’s official account boasts a massive 16.8 million followers, while Meghan’s solo page, launched in January, is sitting at a modest three million.
That’s over five times the followers for the future Queen, and yes, fans are definitely reading into it.
To put it in perspective, even @theroyalfamily, the account that documents King Charles and Queen Camilla’s official duties, doesn’t come close to the Waleses’ popularity.
But don’t count Meghan out just yet, because she’s winning the views game.
A Newsweek report reveals that Meghan’s Instagram Reels are outperforming Prince William and Princess Kate’s videos in 2025, despite her smaller following.
According to royal expert Jack Royston, it may come down to exclusivity.
“Meghan's posts gain more audience than William and Kate's despite her lower follower count because her Instagram is the only place to get updates directly from her,” he wrote.
“Meanwhile, most of Kate and William’s videos feature royal engagements already covered by British press. They’re curated, not exclusive."
