Selena Gomez’s kidney donor Francia claps back at feud rumours

Selena Gomez’s star-studded wedding to Benny Blanco may have been the talk of Hollywood, drawing A-list celebrities and media frenzy from around the world.

However, one notable face was missing Francia Raisa, the actress who donated a kidney to Gomez in 2017.

Despite whispers of a feud, Raisa has hit back at the rumours, calling them “nonsense.”

During a recent bookstore interview, the 37-year-old actress sent her best wishes to the Calm Down singer.

Speaking warmly in Spanish, she said: “I know she’s getting married, and I’m very happy for her. She has a life, she’s already a billionaire, and I am grateful I could do that for her.”

Though the Bring It On: All or Nothing star wasn’t at the nuptials, which were attended by Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Steve Martin, she stressed that organ donation is about saving a life, not seeking gratitude.

When pressed about claims that she was angry over Gomez’s lifestyle after the kidney transplant, she responded firmly.

“I’ve never said anything… Right now what you are asking me is nonsense that has been in the media.”

She also reflected on the emotional toll of the 2017 surgery, revealing that both she and the Only Murders in the Building lead experienced depression following the operation. 

Raisa confirmed that while they’ve had periods of distance, their friendship remains intact. 

“We’ve never really had beef… Then when you come back together, you’re better people,” she said, proving that their bond is far from broken, despite Hollywood gossip.
