Leonardo DiCaprio pays heartfelt goodbye to Dr Jane Goodall

Leonardo DiCaprio, known for his outspoken personality, has paid an emotional tribute to Dr. Jane Goodall.

Dr. Jane, the world-renowned primatologist and conservationist, passed away aged 81 while on a speaking tour in California.

Notably, the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed her passing from natural causes, noting her discoveries “revolutionised science” and that she never stopped fighting for the earth.

Hollywood stars and activists around the world are mourning her death, and Leonardo was among the first to honour the trailblazing scientist, calling her a “true hero for the planet.”

The Titanic star wrote on Instagram: “Today we have lost a true hero, an inspiration to millions, and a dear friend… My last message to Jane was simple: ‘You are my hero.’ Now we all must carry the torch for her.”

Actress Jane Fonda admitted her “heart breaks” at the loss, hailing the advocate as “brave, heartful, and history-making.”

She praised her lifelong work with chimpanzees in Tanzania, saying she opened the world’s eyes to “the richness of animal lives.”

Michael Douglas also remembered his fellow UN Messenger of Peace, writing: “Her legacy will forever be remembered for her unwavering dedication to our planet.”

Meanwhile, Maria Shriver mourned someone she “adored,” recalling how honoured she felt when Jane received her Minerva Award in 2009.

Ellen DeGeneres also shared a heartfelt clip from her talk show, celebrating Jane’s groundbreaking work at a time when women scientists were scarce.
