Prince Harry’s much-anticipated reunion with King Charles lasted just 53 minutes, and left the Duke of Sussex feeling more like a guest than family, according to insiders.
Harry, 41, returned to London earlier this month for a four-day solo trip. During the visit, Harry met his father at Clarence House, where the pair shared tea, exchanged gifts, and greeted one another with kisses on the cheek.
Sources revealed Harry brought a framed family photo of himself with Meghan and their children, while the King, 76, offered his son a birthday present ahead of his 41st birthday.
Despite the warm gestures, reports suggest the meeting was “distinctly formal,” with no discussions about Harry returning to royal duties in a “half-in, half-out” role.
According to The Sun, Harry admitted he felt like an “official visitor” during the encounter, leaving him “surprised” at the tone of the meeting. The monarch has not seen Archie and Lilibet since June 2022.
A spokesperson for Harry stressed his UK visit was focused on his charitable patronages and spending time with “family and friends,” while sources close to the Duke insisted he is happy with his life in the U.S. and has no plans to return as a working royal.
