Sarah Fergusons strange request that left the Palace staff furious

Sarah Ferguson is once again making headlines, this time not just for her ties to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, but for stories from inside the royal household.

Former royal butler Paul Burrell, who famously worked for Princess Diana, revealed that Fergie once infuriated Buckingham Palace staff during a seemingly ordinary picnic.

Burrell recalls in his new book The Royal Insider: My Life with the Queen, the King and Princess Diana that royal pages would ask guests what they wanted prepared for lunch during picnics on the Scottish hills.

According to him, Fergie declined to give her food preference, prompting one staff member to explode in frustration in front of the Queen and other royals.

“In a voice heard by all the ladies assembled, including Her Majesty, he boomed: ‘What does that red-haired mare want for lunch?’” Burrell recounted. The shocking outburst was reportedly met with silence.

Comparing her to Diana, Burrell said staff found Fergie “too familiar” and harder to warm to, whereas Diana’s “gentleness” earned instant affection.

“Fergie was like a bouncy red setter puppy,” Burrell wrote, suggesting the Duchess had to work harder to gain trust
