Liam Hemsworth has finally addressed his surprise replacement of Henry Cavill, after the latter revealed he would be bowing out of the role of the main character.
The Hunger Games actor will be playing Geralt of Rivia in the final two seasons of the Netflix show, and has remarked on all the backlash he faced following the announcement.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Lonely Planet actor stated, “"I jumped off social media and the internet most of last year, there was quite a bit of noise, and I had to put that aside. It started to become a distraction.”
Liam continued, "I dealt with that sort of thing in the past a lot and, you know, at the end of the day, I love making movies and I love telling stories and acting. I just don't want any of that to affect my way of telling the story that I'm trying to tell."
The 35-year-old went on to reveal that the offer blindsided him, and that he is a massive fan of Henry and what did in the show.
Meanwhile the Man of Steel star had also praised his replacement in his 2022 Instagram post, when he broke the news to fans.
The next season of The Witcher premieres on October 30th, with Liam as the Geralt of Rivia.
