King Charles surprised royal watchers yesterday when he quietly held back-to-back meetings at Clarence House, one with Duchess Sophie and the other with Prince Harry.
The King, 76, reunited with Harry, 40, for the first time in 19 months. The Duke of Sussex, who is back in the UK for four days of engagements, arrived at Clarence House around 5:20 p.m. and left less than an hour later.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the two had tea but offered no details on what was discussed.
But before Harry’s Range Rover pulled through the gates, Duchess Sophie, 60, was spotted leaving the King’s London residence.
Though the topic of her visit wasn’t disclosed, it likely centered on her recent five-day tour of Alberta, Canada, where she carried out charity and Commonwealth-linked engagements.
The back-to-back meetings sparked speculation about whether Sophie’s audience with Charles was related to Harry’s visit, though palace insiders have remained silent.
