Sarah Ferguson has marked the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing with a heartfelt message and a new photo.
The Duchess of York, 65, shared the tribute on her social media accounts today, reflecting on the late monarch’s kindness and the bond they shared.
Sarah, who was married to Prince Andrew from 1986 to 1996 but remained close to the Queen, still lives with her ex-husband at Royal Lodge, Windsor.
Since Her Majesty’s death in 2022, the pair have cared for the Queen’s beloved corgis, Sandy and Muick, a responsibility Sarah says is both an honour and a comfort.
Posting a new picture of the dogs, Sarah wrote: “Today marks three years since the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. Not a day passes without remembering Her Majesty’s warmth and kindness. Caring for her beloved corgis is an honour and a daily reminder of our times together.”
The Duchess has previously spoken about the comfort she finds in the pets, once remarking that she feels the Queen is still “talking” to her through the dogs.
“Every morning they come in and go ‘woof woof’ and I’m sure it’s her, reminding me she’s still around,” she said earlier this year.
Her tribute comes as the Royal Family marks the poignant anniversary privately and publicly across the UK.
