Prince Harry’s solo return to the UK this week could be sparking unease for Meghan Markle, according to royal insiders.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, has arrived in London for the annual WellChild Awards, followed by charity work in Nottingham.
His trip also coincides with speculation of a possible meeting with King Charles, their first face-to-face since February 2024.
Royal expert Jennie Bond told OK! magazine that the Duchess of Sussex, 44, may find the prospect unsettling.
“It would be natural for her to feel somewhat threatened by her husband being drawn back into the royal circle,” Bond explained.
“I think she would have conflicting emotions about Harry meeting his father, if this is indeed on the cards. I’m sure, though, that they would have discussed it, and that Harry would not go ahead if he did not have his wife’s support.”
Meanwhile, author Tom Bower suggested Meghan might actually feel more comfortable staying behind in Montecito with their children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.
He said the duchess likely feels “safe” knowing that Harry’s loyalty to his wife and children remains his top priority.
Whether or not the long-awaited father-son meeting happens, Harry’s return is already drawing major attention, and Meghan’s absence is once again fuelling speculation about her “true feelings” toward the royals.
