Prince Harry marked the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death with a quiet tribute at Windsor on Monday morning.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, visited St George’s Chapel, where the late monarch is buried alongside Prince Philip, Princess Margaret, and her parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.
Harry laid a wreath and flowers at the royal tomb shortly after arriving in the UK. His visit came as Prince William and Kate Middleton carried out an engagement just eight miles away in Sunninghill, Berkshire, where they met members of the Women’s Institute, a group the late Queen supported for over 80 years.
Harry’s four-day UK trip includes attending the annual WellChild Awards in London tonight, an event he has championed for 17 years, followed by an appearance in Nottingham for BBC Children in Need.
Meghan Markle has remained in Montecito with their children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
While no reunion with senior royals has been confirmed, reports suggest Harry hopes to see his father, King Charles, during the visit.
A friend told The Mirror: “He’s not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK. He wants to be able to show his children where he grew up. He really would like to come back to the UK much more.”
