King Charles, Prince William and Princess Kate marked a sombre event ahead of Prince Harry's arrival in the UK.

On September 8, Buckingham Palace released a delightful photo of Queen Elizabeth II to mark the third death anniversary of the late monarch.

Alongside the picture, the monarch's team wrote, "Remembering Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022."

Soon after the royal family's post, the Prince and Princess of Wales also re-shared the same tribute on their official Instagram handle, joining the King to commemorate the significant day.

In the comments section, fans extended warm wishes to the royal family and remembered the late Queen.

One fan wrote, "Still remember hearing the news. It felt like the world stopped for a moment as we took in the news."

"Can’t believe it’s 3 years," another well-wisher commented.

It is important to mention that the royal family's statement came hours before the Duke of Sussex's return to the UK.
