Kate Middleton delighted royal fans by slipping effortlessly into “mum mode” during her latest royal outing in London.
The Princess of Wales, 43, joined Prince William at the Natural History Museum for her first engagement since the summer holidays.
The couple had been away from royal duties while spending time with their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.
Arriving to bright sunshine, the royals were soon caught in a sudden downpour while visiting the museum’s newly transformed gardens.
Kate was spotted guiding schoolchildren to shelter and bending down to shield one young girl with her umbrella.
Beverley Brown, an assistant headteacher at Kender Primary School, praised Kate’s instinctive response.
Speaking to HELLO!, she revealed: “Princess Kate was in amongst us and said, ‘Let them go in,’ and ‘Let’s take them inside, it’s pouring.’”
Kate has often spoken of her love of outdoor activities, including swimming in cold weather, but yesterday’s tender gesture reminded many why she’s adored as both a royal and a mother.
