Newly engaged couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s friends are overjoyed about the pair sealing their commitment with a ring.

According to PEOPLE, a source revealed, “Their friends feel like they bring out the best in each other, and the people close to them are glad it’s out in the open.”

The pop superstar and NFL legend announced their engagement on Aug. 26 with a joint Instagram post that racked up 36 million likes.

The post featured photos from Kelce’s flower-filled backyard proposal, captioned: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” followed by a dynamite emoji—a nod to their nickname, TNT.

“Everyone thinks they make a great couple,” the insider told PEOPLE. “It’s been awesome to see how they’ve made time for each other despite their busy schedules.”

Previously, another source revealed to the outlet that Swift and Kelce had privately shared the news with friends before going public.

“Taylor and Travis’ friends are thrilled for them, and many found out about the engagement right after it happened,” the source said. “Keeping it quiet wasn’t easy, but now that it’s out, everyone’s just excited.”
