Jessie J prepares for first big event after cancer surgery

British singer Jessie J is preparing for a big milestone after she revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy.

Jessica Ellen Cornish, professionally known as Jessie J, announced in July that she had a successful mastectomy and doctors had confirmed there was no cell growth.

Now, the singer is set to perform for the first time after three months of her cancer diagnosis.

Despite the setback, which Jessie said “robbed her of memories” with her son, she is ready to make an appearance scheduled at BBC Radio 2 in the Park.

Radio presenter Scott Mills revealed to The Sun, “She's all right and she is feeling really positive.”

“She just needs to focus on her health and then feel ready for the tour. It's a homecoming. I'm definitely not missing that.”, Scott added.

Jessie was initially scheduled to tour in October, however, because of an additional surgery, her dates have been postponed.

“Unfortunately, I have to have a second surgery - nothing too serious, but it has to be done by the end of this year.”, Jessie informed her fans.

Breast cancer is a very common type of cancer which majorly affects women where malignant cells form in the breast tissue.
