Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's 'rocky' marriage questioned by Andrew's ex

Prince Andrew’s former flame, Lady Victoria Hervey, has shared a scathing take on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship, claiming she is “amazed” the couple’s marriage has lasted this long.

The 47-year-old socialite, who briefly dated Andrew in 1999, told Closer magazine that she believes the Sussexes’ union has been “rocky” for some time. “I’m amazed their marriage has lasted as long as this,” she said. 

“I’m sure it’s only because of the kids, because it seems to have been quite rocky for a while. She got him to move his whole life, and now she’s back where she grew up.”

Her comments contrast sharply with Meghan’s own words earlier this year on Jamie Kern Lima’s podcast, where the Duchess of Sussex insisted she and Harry are “forever” and still in a “honeymoon period.”

Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals in 2020 and now live in Montecito, California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet. 

The Duke of Sussex is set to return to the UK on September 8 for the WellChild Awards, which coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death.

Lady Victoria added that Harry must prove he is a “changed man” before the royals can fully welcome him back.
