Sabrina Carpenter, who is about to collaborate with Taylor Swift on The Life Of A Showgirl, explained the interpretation of upcoming album’s cover.
Although the 26-year-old singer was severely criticised for the artwork, the Espresso hitmaker has cleared out the misconception prevalent among her fans.
While speaking with Interview Magazine, the Grammy winner admitted that the depiction was “merely a metaphor.”
Contrary to the ongoing narrative, Sabrina seemingly denied being submissive as she speculated: “I’m sure that other people are like ‘dang, she’s a sub.’”
When asked about the backlash, she found the reaction really “fascinating” as the artist was “clear” about the meanings of the record's imaging.
While the negative remarks made her both “cry” and “giggle” a little, she stated being aware of the fact that her “experience and point of view” differ from other people’s lives.
Despite having differences, the Please Please Please crooner acknowledged the feelings of her fans as she noted: “if they [feel], then that’s real to them.”
This came after the singer introduced two alternate endings to her track Tears video, sending fans in to a frenzy.
Sabrina’s recent release hints at the fact that men do not survive in any of her reality from parallel universes.
