Prince Williams friend slams King Charles as weak over Harry, Andrew

A close friend of Prince William has reportedly branded King Charles “weak” in his handling of Prince Harry and Prince Andrew, according to fresh claims.

The insider told The Royalist via The Daily Beast that William has long felt his father risks repeating mistakes by extending olive branches to his estranged younger son, much like allowing Andrew to quietly appear at family gatherings despite being a non-working royal.

Andrew stepped back after his disastrous 2019 Newsnight interview but has since been seen at Sandringham Christmas events.

“William was right about Andrew, and he is right about Harry. Charles is weak,” the friend said.

The remarks come ahead of Harry’s upcoming UK visit on Sept. 8 for the WellChild Awards, held on the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, has not been seen with his father since February 2024 and remains estranged from William.

Sources close to the King, however, insist he is in a no-win situation.

“Whatever the King does, he will make his relationship with one of his sons worse,” one told the outlet, adding that reconciliation with Harry would be viewed as a provocation to William.
