Prince Andrew verbally abused, bullied Palace staffers, ex-staffer claims

Prince Andrew has been hit with fresh allegations about his temper and treatment of palace staff.

In a shocking new Channel 5 documentary, Prince Andrew: On Trial, former royal protection officer Paul Page claimed that the Duke of York once insulted a staff member, calling them a “fat, lardy [expletive].”

Page, who worked at Buckingham Palace from 1998 to 2004, said the royal regularly lost his temper over small issues and showed little respect for staff at all levels.

“Prince Andrew would often lose his temper over very small things. His attitude was such that he would look down on all members of staff, not just maids or police, but even his own private secretaries,” Page alleged.

He recounted one incident where a colleague put Andrew on loudspeaker during a heated exchange. “He said, ‘Listen to me, you fat lardy [expletive], they’re not going to come down here,’” Page recalled.

Page described Andrew, 65, as “rude, obnoxious and self-entitled,” adding that he was “the most unpopular royal in the Palace.”

The Duke of York, already the least popular member of the Royal Family according to YouGov polls, has not responded publicly. Buckingham Palace has been contacted for comment.
