Prince Harry may no longer be a working royal, but one iconic royal residence still holds a special place in his heart.
According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, the Duke of Sussex would “love” to return to Balmoral Castle, the Scottish estate where the Royal Family traditionally spends its summers.
Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and relocating to California with Meghan Markle, Harry, 40, has only returned to the UK a handful of times.
During those visits, he has largely kept his stays private, often using hotels near London. But Harrold, who served King Charles between 2004 and 2011, believes Balmoral would feel like home to Harry.
“I think Harry would probably love to spend time at Balmoral,” Harrold told GB News.
“That’s his kind of place, being on the farm, in his element. It’s where the royals can just be themselves.”
Still, the ex-butler admitted the family tensions of recent years could make such a visit “awkward.”
While Harry will be in the UK next week for the WellChild Awards in London, he isn’t expected to head to Scotland.
However, reports suggest a long-awaited reunion with King Charles may finally take place during the trip.
