Meghan Markle may have upset Netflix after making a pointed dig at her royal past during a separate interview the same day season two of With Love, Meghan premiered.
On August 26, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, released the second season of her lifestyle series on the streaming platform.
The eight new episodes see Meghan cooking and entertaining celebrity friends, including Chrissy Teigen and Tan France.
But instead of sparking headlines with her Netflix content, it was her candid chat with Bloomberg that made waves.
In the interview, Meghan criticized the royal rule requiring her to wear nude pantyhose, admitting it felt “inauthentic” and unlike herself.
While the remark wasn’t explosive, royal commentators believe Netflix may be frustrated that her most newsworthy soundbites weren’t saved for the series.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital: “Meghan’s pity parties sell, and if I were Netflix, I’d be angry that a far more personal interview was released the same day as her streaming program, where we hardly get any insight into her private life with Harry.”
Fellow expert Richard Fitzwilliams agreed, saying Meghan knows “any mention of her time as a senior working royal gets instant worldwide attention” - ensuring headlines, but at Netflix’s expense.
