Prince William is reportedly “not happy” about the possibility of King Charles meeting Prince Harry during his upcoming UK trip.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, is scheduled to attend the WellChild Awards in London on September 8, an event he has supported for years, and speculation is mounting that he could also reunite with his father.
If the meeting happens, it would mark the first time Charles and Harry have come face-to-face since February 2024.
But according to The Daily Beast, Prince William strongly opposes the idea. A close friend of the Prince of Wales told The Royalist: “William thinks a Harry meeting is a terrible, terrible idea.”
The source added: “Ultimately, William is a loyal soldier. He respects his father’s rank, and he respects his father’s right to make his own decisions, and he won’t make a fuss if it happens. But he still thinks it’s a mistake.”
While William is said to be keeping his distance, King Charles is reportedly more open to extending an olive branch. Still, tensions remain high.
Harry has previously claimed his father “won’t speak” to him amid ongoing disputes over his UK taxpayer-funded security, which he recently lost in court.
