American actress Alicia Silverstone admits she never wanted to revisit her iconic role
Alicia Silverstone confessed she never planned to play Cher Horowitz again in the Clueless TV revival.
The 48-year-old actress finally returned to the iconic role, slipping back into Cher’s signature style for the small-screen adaptation.
She first brought the fashion-obsessed teen from Beverly Hills, to life in 1995.
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the Crush actress admitted that she once swore she’d never revisit the character.
“I never thought that that was something I would ever do because I wouldn't wanna mess up this thing that we all love so much,” she explained.
According to Silverstone, her character’s style would undergo a visible makeover in the new series.
Gossip Girl masterminds Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are leading the project, with Dollface writer Jordan Weiss on board as executive producer.
Original director Amy Heckerling will also return behind the scenes, ensuring the reboot keeps the wit and warmth that made the film iconic.
She has also reflected on the highs and lows of finding fame as a teenager, admitting she “missed some emotional steps” but grew in other ways.
Notably, there is no confirmed release date as the project is currently in its early stages of development.
