Quentin Tarantino officially pulled the plug on his ‘most boring film’ after not being able to start production.
Last year, the 62-year-old filmmaker had written the script for The Movie Critic before losing motivation to continue the project.
In conversation with The Church of Tarantino podcast, he explained the challenge he had given himself: “Can I take the most boring profession in the world and make it an interesting movie?”
Tarantino added, “I was so excited about the writing, but I wasn’t really that excited about dramatising what I wrote once we were in pre-production.”
The Pulp Fiction director revealed that his unseen project is set in the world of his 2019 blockbuster, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
In 2024, Deadline reported that The Movie Critic would be Tarantino’s ‘farewell film’ and was rumoured to feature Brad Pitt.
However, the producer denied the speculations by saying, “That was never the case, ever, ever, ever.”
Quentin Tarantino backed out of directing the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel, which is now helmed by David Fincher.
For the unversed, Quentin Tarantino has admitted to making one more movie before retiring from the industry, though no details have surfaced regarding his final project.
