'Stranger Things' star reveals shocking shift in Hollywood industry

Many notable celebrities either ended their journeys or took some time off from the entertainment industry due to different reasons.

Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery revealed why he stepped away from Hollywood while speaking to The Australian.

Dacre noted that there has been a huge shift in the entertainment world as “traditional stars” were a “mystery” to their fans.

However, the 30-year-old star believes that the change is evident due to “social media” which is the primary reason for him to drop “off the map for the last five years.”

“I am not trying to compete with anyone else,” the Elvis star noted. He maintained that he is attempting to live his “truth” and “pay the rent.”

According to Dacre, he has given a little bit of himself to “every role” in his projects. By taking time off, the actor is investing time in “personal reflection,” deciding the nature of his work in future.

Did Billy die in Stranger Things?

While the actor’s role has ended with his character Billy Hargrove’s death, he is “excited” for the hit series' end.

The Went Up the Hill actor admitted while speaking to the outlet that the creators Duffer Brothers “have so many other awesome stories.”

Although the hit show is wrapping up, his statement seemingly indicates that the mastermind creators might come up with something new and more exciting in the future.
