One of the most anticipated series on Netflix in 2025, Stranger Things Season 5, finally has a release date — but the show will be split into three parts.

Netflix’s Tudum 2025 event featured a Stranger Things Season 5 first-look trailer that also revealed three separate release dates.

The first four episodes will release this fall on November 26, three episodes on Christmas, and the finale episode on New Year’s Eve — each episode releasing at 5 p.m. PST.

However, the split into three parts will boost anticipation and leave viewers with different cliffhangers each time a part ends.

Although Netflix has a strategy behind the split, the streamer will benefit from two months of subscriptions and a month of fans discussing the show’s events.

This way, the streaming giant will take full advantage of the holiday season, which may turn Season 5 from an already hit release into one of the biggest television events.

Netflix has also revealed the synopsis for the next season which is as follows:

“The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party—standing together, one last time.”
