Euphoria wrapped up with its third and final season, raising questions about its twisted storyline and unpredictable deaths.

The HBO series has been in the headlines ever since the finale premiered; however, Sam Levinson spoke out about the origin story that might sent shockwaves.

During his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the creator revealed how “his own battle with addiction” ended up inspiring him to shape the storyline.

He opened up about having “extreme anxiety, panic attacks,” before being prescribed “a lot of different medications.”

The director, when he was 11,  had to be withdrawn from school due to side effects before he started “experimenting with the pills” that would result in seizure.

Sam was kicked out several highschools after being addicted to opiates at about 13 before resorting to home schooling.

Like the lead stars of the show, he experienced a “very unusual high school experience” which was very different from “the traditional one.”

He explained that the job of the writer is to piece together one’s “life experiences and hardships… and you try to put it into something that can transform it.”

What is Euphoria about?

Euphoria explores the bizarre experience of students facing addiction problems while navigating personal issues.

It was reported that the cast members did not get along; however, sources close to the stars have debunked the rumours.
