Johnny Depp set to make powerful comeback as Jack Sparrow?

Johnny Depp could be setting sail once again as Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean reboot.

The film’s producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, recently revealed that discussions are already underway and that Depp may reprise the beloved role.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Bruckheimer said that if Depp is happy with how the character is written, he would be open to returning.

“It’s a reboot, but if it were up to me, he would be in it,” he added.

“I love him. He’s a good friend, an incredible artist with a unique presence. He created Captain Jack.”

Rumours of a new instalment have circulated for years but were never confirmed.

Last year, the veteran producer confirmed that a reboot was in development, keeping fans hopeful.

Although the 62-year-old actor had previously expressed reluctance but he remarked in 2022 that he wouldn’t accept “$300 million and a million alpacas” for another film.

Depp’s comeback comes after years of public controversy, including legal battles with ex-wife Amber Heard.

The couple settled in 2022, describing their relationship as “intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love.”

While he won a defamation case in the U.S., a UK court upheld parts of Heard’s claims.

In his lawsuit against her, Depp says her December 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post made Disney remove him from the sixth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
