Avengers series is expected to include a famous Marvel character in its Doomsday and Secret Wars, which are expected to release in coming years.
Although it is being speculated that Robert Downey Jr. will mark his return to the universe as Doctor Doom, another A-lister raised eyebrows with a cryptic post.
While his wife Blake Lively battles Justin Baldoni in lawsuit, Ryan Reynolds took to his Instagram to share an update with no context.
The move stirred controversy amongst Marvel fandom.
The 48-year-old actor added a picture of Avengers logo with letter “A” written on top of it in red colour, which is signature to his titular role in the Deadpool series.
Admirers went wild after coming across the teaser as they speculated his addition to the cast of the new projects.
One of the users expressed their excitement, noting: “If you are saying what I think you’re saying, I’m actually gonna scream.”
Another netizen questioned the possibility, “Could it actually be???” While the third follower begged in the comment section: “Pity tell me that this is a sign.”
However, his addition to the franchise hints at the character’s conclusion.
In a previous interview, the Red Notice actor revealed that if “Deadpool becomes an Avenger or an X-man, we’re at the end.”
He added: “That’s wish fulfilment, you can’t give him that.”
Considering his past remarks, the supposed teaser for Ryan’s new venture could mean that the comics antihero might be close to finally getting what he wants.
This came after he was accused of mocking It Ends With Us filmmaker, who is the opponent of his wife Blake in sexual harassment lawsuit.
In his now dismissed defamation case, the Wayfarer Studios owner alleged that he was being depicted in Ryan's Deadpool as Nice Pool.
