In shocking news, it was revealed that singer Kelly Clarkson’s former partner Brandon Blackstock has passed away at the age of 48.

This news comes only a day after she revealed that he was ill, which was the reason she gave for cancelling her concerts.

Fans took to social media to express their condolences over his passing, and give their thoughts on the situation.

One user on Reddit applauded Clarkson for taking care of him despite their messy divorce proceedings, “I figured it must have been really serious with all the time she’s taken off from her show and concerts. She’s better than me either way for taking care of him after he put her through the courts over money but when someone is sick you (obviously) can’t get that time back.”

Others reflected over how quickly the death took place after her announcement of his illness, “She probably only announced he was ill because they knew he was about to pass and the news was going to come out anyway. Seems like it was kept private over the last three years and is likely why she missed some episodes of her talk show earlier this year, without saying why at the time.”
