Brad Pitt has paid a touching tribute to his mother, Jane Etta Pitt, who passed away at the age of 84.
The sad news was confirmed on Wednesday by her granddaughter, Sydney, who shared a heartfelt message in her memory.
Jane’s death comes amid a difficult period for the Oscar-winning actor, who is currently entangled in renewed legal disputes with ex-wife Angelina Jolie.
Recent court documents revealed that the Maleficent actress submitted sealed filings as part of their ongoing battle over the French winery they once co-owned.
The 61-year-old actor acknowledged his mother during a promotional appearance for his upcoming film F1.
While speaking on Today in June, the Fight Club actor shared a tender gesture, saying, “I've got to say hi to my mom because she watches you every morning,” before pausing to wave and blow a kiss to the camera.
“To Jane Pitt. Love you, Mum,” he said softly.
Earlier this year, in a candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Golden Globe winner spoke warmly about Jane’s personality.
He described her as deeply compassionate and sincere, adding that she had often been misrepresented by the media.
“She always gets painted as a she-devil,” he noted, “but there’s not an ounce of malice in her.”
