David Harbour has finally opened up about his divorce from Lily Allen, almost nine months after their split.
The Stranger Things breakout star spoke out about the separation as the British pop singer’s new album exposes their toxic relationship, following her accusations of Harbour’s infidelity.
Speaking to Esquire Spain in September, just before her bombshell West End Girl album release, Lily Allen reflected on her “pain, slip-ups, and mistakes” as she turned 50.
The singer candidly addressed those “mistakes” in her semi-autobiographical tracks Tennis and Madeline, written after discovering Harbour’s three-year affair and multiple infidelities.
When asked by the publication if there was anything he would change about the past half-century, Harbour called it a hard question.
“The question of regret, or something. I would change either everything or nothing,” he said.
The Emmy-nominated actor said one can accept what has happened and realize that “even the pain and the slip-ups and the mistakes are all part of the journey, and that there’s truth and growth, wisdom and deeper empathy and connection in all that.”
Harbour described the scenario as “a house of cards,” explaining that the moment you try to change one thing, you eventually end up changing it all.
