Samuel Monroe Jr., who is best known for his role in 1993 classic Menace II Society, is on life support for contracting Meningitis.
According to his family, he had not been treated for eight months due to misdiagnosis.
Monroe's wife, Shawna Stewart told Fox News Digital that 52-year-old actor became infected with the disease about 18 months ago.
They went on to note, "Because of this negligence, the meningitis went untreated for eight months."
Meningitis was never picked up due to negligence and had been untreated for eight months.
By the time they picked it up the disease had spread to his brain and spine.
As of now, the American actor is on life support and will remain there until further notice as his condition continues to get worse.
For those unversed, Meningitis is a life threatening swelling to the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
Without treatment it may lead to death, other conditions include sepsis, vision loss, hearing loss and seizures.
On April 27, his family started a GoFundMe page for his recovery and to help care for his two children Kingston 12, and Brooklynn 11.
"In the event Samuel regains consciousness and is removed from life support, Samuel will require round-the-clock care for a year or more," it read.
Monroe also had small roles in Set It Off, Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, and The Players Club.
It is pertinent to mention that his condition shows no sign of improvement.
