Katy Perry is heavily hinting that something new is coming in her music, but some of the pop star’s fans have it confused with her personal life.
The Fireworks singer took to her social media to post a cheeky caption with a carousel of images, that correlate with each other.
“Is it a…?” wrote the 41-year-old with a picture of her wearing a crop top with the word “crush” noticeably written on it, seemingly quoting lyrics from her song Crush off of her seventh studio album 143.
Under the post, fans put together the clues to theorise that a music video for the song was coming, since Katy has also been showing snippets of a new music video on the screens of her tour.
However, others were confused and thought that the singer was making a pregnancy announcement soon after confirming her romance with the former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
One internet user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Wait, are you pregnant, Katy? Wow… congratulations,” with another adding, “Are you pregnant?”
“I totally thought this was a pregnancy announcement,” wrote a third netizen along with some other netizens critiquing her new romance.
Katy has explained that the numbers 143 are “code for I love you.”
