Kelly Clarkson kept a lid on her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock’s condition even though she was aware of its worsening, reportedly for the sake of her little ones.

The Primetime Emmy award winner, who has children River, 11, and Remington, nine, with the now-deceased manager, is apparently heartbroken for the young duo.

A source told People magazine that she decided to remain silent about the father of her children’s cancer diagnosis so that she could protect him.

They stated, “Kelly has always tried to keep things classy. It became clear earlier this year that Brandon was not doing well. She’s been devastated for the kids.”

The insider also remarked about the 43-year-old’s divorce which took place in 2020, and the way she navigated it with her kids.

"The divorce was incredibly difficult for her — messy, painful and something she felt terrible about, but she always wanted her kids to have the best relationship possible with their dad,” the insider noted.

Kelly has previously opened up about the fact that her children were her first priority, and that they find their parent’s divorce difficult to deal with.
