Oscar-laden screen icon Meryl Streep has brought back the striking smirk of her classic anti-heroine character, Miranda Priestly, for The Devil Wears Prada 2.
On 7 August, Streep was spotted in New York City clad in a buttery peach silk trench coat.
Sending the internet’s fashion circles into meltdown, the three-time Academy Award winner paired the coat’s sleek, structured lapel with luminous fabric worthy of a Paris Fashion Week runway.
Her look caught attention as if it had stepped straight out of haute couture heaven.
Underneath the trench, a soft dove-grey lining peeked through, a subtle nod to Miranda’s luxurious demeanour.
Streep accessorised with chunky silver hoop earrings and a stack of gold-and-chain bracelets that delivered an expensively satisfying clink.
Over her arm hung a pristine white leather shoulder bag, the kind befitting the designer-clad on-screen villainess Miranda embodies.
And not to forget the pièce de résistance: ink-black oversized sunglasses, reflecting camera flashes while concealing whatever withering thought might be lurking behind that smirk.
The Mamma Mia! star flashed the exact half-smile, half-assessment that once made interns quiver in the original Devil Wears Prada.
Silk-wrapped, diamond-cut, and ready to own the fashion world — that’s exactly what awaits in The Devil Wears Prada 2.
