Meryl Streep is back in her role as Miranda Priestly for The Devil Wears Prada 2, and this time, Miranda is stepping into the Met Gala in a dreamy red ensemble.
On Friday, August 1, Streep, along with her co-star Stanley Tucci and other actors, was captured filming the glamorous return of the original 2006 film.
PEOPLE was the first to obtain pictures of several stars at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, where the sequel showed the cast attending a Met Gala-like event.
Streep’s character, Miranda, served timeless elegance in a stunning, floor-length red gown. The fiery ensemble features a dramatic off-the-shoulder neckline with sculptural folds that add a regal flair.
The bodice of Miranda’s outfit was structured and cinched at the waist, flowing into a voluminous skirt made from what appears to be a luxurious, slightly crinkled fabric.
Meanwhile, Tucci, who plays Nigel Kipling, a loyal confidant of Miranda Priestly, joined her in a classic black tuxedo with a polka-dot bowtie, a black-and-white striped scarf, and his classic black glasses.
The duo served elegance, portraying the editor-in-chief of Runway, a fictional high-fashion magazine, and Miranda’s loyal confidant and art director, respectively.
The pair walked, waving to the photographers on the red carpet, and suddenly the three-time Oscar winner stumbled, fell, and started to laugh while Tucci offered her a hand to get up.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026.
