Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's sexual harassment lawsuit, which was filed in late 2024, took an unexpected turn after latest ruling by judge.

After the 37-year-old was granted special protection in the upcoming deposition, an unprecedented situation marred the case.

The scheduled date of the proceedings has been changed, delaying it by two weeks.

According to the documents, it was mutually decided by both the parties to change the date of the much-anticipated proceedings to July 31.

It was reported that the dismissal of a social media guru Jed Wallace from the suit is the cause of the delay.

The influencer was removed to give an option to the Gossip Girls alum to refile the case whenever she likes.

This move will give time to both the plaintiff and the defendant’s sides to examine the amendment in the complaint.

Prior to this revision, the location of the deposition became a point of contestation as Blake's team raised questions against the suggested location.

Why was deposition location changed in Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni case?

The Another Simple Favor actress’ team maintained that the site was not suitable for the proceedings as it is closer to the office of the director’s lawyer.

This might result in Blake facing harassment at the hands of the paparazzi.

However, the Jane the Virgin actor’s attorneys claimed that the Betty Buzz owner is using her “celebrity status.”

This came after the $400 million lawsuit against the actress and her husband Ryan Reynolds was dismissed by a judge.

The defamation case was a response to the legal action by the entrepreneur, who alleged that she faced sexual harassment while filming on the set of It Ends With Us.
