American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to to serve his sentence after being convicted in July.
The rapper’s trial began in May and saw multiple testimonies from Diddy’s ex partners and people who take part in his infamous “freak-offs”.
In July, Diddy was convicted on two charges and on October 3, he was sentenced to four years and two months in prison.
Now, his attorneys have asked the judge to let him serve his term in New Jersey.
In a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, Diddy’s lawyers requested the judge to recommend the rapper to be placed at FCI Fort Dix.
“In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the court strong recommend to the Bureau of Prison that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix”, Diddy’s lawyer Teny Geragos wrote.
FCI Fort Dix, Federal Correctional Institution, is a low-security United States federal prison for male offenders in New Jersey located on a military base.
It is yet to be decided where the disgraced rapper will spend his prison term.

The rapper attempted to weave off the partial verdict by reaching out to President Donald Trump for a pardon which was turned down.
