Angelina Jolie, Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese’s contact details were exposed among other Hollywood celebrities.

According to a cybersecurity expert, the stars’ phone numbers and email addresses were divulged after a Tribeca Film Festival database, named contacts was made public online.

Jeremiah Fowler, a researcher for Black Hills Information Security, alleged that he found the document days before the festival started last month.

He told The Sun that this phishing attempt “was by far the biggest collection of celebrity data” he has ever seen.

Fowler revealed that the interesting part was “that there was a folder that captured their device information based off the email”.

“It would say what version of an iPhone they were using, if they were using Safari [a web browser], what version of the software they were using. That could give the bad guys a lot of additional information,” the researcher explained.

However, Fowler added that the festival reportedly removed the databases and told him it “takes matters of data security very seriously and is actively investigating this issue”.

In addition to Jolie, De Niro and Scorsese, other stars including Jennifer Lawrence, Morgan Freeman, Michael Douglas, Rami Malek, Sharon Stone, and directors George Lucas and Danny Boyle have been involved in the alleged leak last month.
