Kris Jenner shares emotional tribute on mom MJ's birthday

Just days after announcing the death of her mother, Kris Jenner returned to social media to celebrate Mary Jo "MJ" Shannon's first heavenly birthday.

On Sunday, July 26, the 69-year-old reality star honoured her late mother's memory with a throwback photo from MJ's 91st birthday celebration at Los Angeles restaurant The Ivy in 2025.

“Happy Heavenly Birthday Mommy. I love you,” she captioned the post.

The carousel also featured heartwarming moments of MJ posing with Kris, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren during what became her final birthday celebration.

Earlier this month, the Kardashian matriarch announced her mother's passing with an emotional tribute.

“Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ,” she wrote in an IG post on Thursday, July 16.

“There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family..to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted.”

For the unversed, MJ was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Houghton and husband Harry Shannon.
