Kim Kardashian was devastated as she shared her raw feelings in a birthday post for her late grandmother, Mary Jo Shannon.

As Kris Jenner’s mother passed away few days before turning 92, The Kardashians star turned to her Instagram and penned down an emotional tribute.

She shared a carousel filled with candid moments with the late personality as they enjoy an event together.

The SKIMs owner wrote a message for the departed soul, wishing her 92nd birthday, sharing: “It’s only been a week” but Kim came to know about MJ’s struggle, calling it “beautiful.”

According to her, she “thought [she] knew it all." The new information made her “respect” her grandmother, and “love you more if that’s even possible.”

The entrepreneur confessed in the heartfelt message: “I miss you like crazy and I love you endlessly my sweet grandma MJ.”

Similar tributes were posted by other family members, including Kendall Jenner. She shared a picture of her granny holding her when she was young.

Kendall wrote a small note for her: “Happy Birthday angel,” adding a dove emoji.

How did Mary Jo Shannon die?

Mary passed away on July 16, 2026. However, her cause of death was not made public by the family.

The news of her sad passing was confirmed by Kris through social media, explaining how her mother “taught us that family is everything.”
