Cristiano Ronaldo makes unexpected career move into acting

Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to change careers and is currently preparing to enter the world of acting as the football icon set to appear in an upcoming television drama revolving around the sport.

According to TalkSport the Portugal captain will make a cameo appearance in Day 1s which is a new series about a fictional football agent. Ronaldo is also serving as an executive producer on the project.

Band of Brothers star Damian Lewis will lead the cast while former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry is also expected to appear after being spotted during filming at Barnet FC's Hive Stadium.

The series is based on a concept created by Henry's longtime agent Darren Dein who is also among the executive producers.

According to The Sun the project has already attracted significant interest from streaming platforms with industry insiders predicting a competitive bidding war for its distribution rights.

"It’s likely to spark a bidding war between the streamers," a source told the publication. "The sheer calibre of figures behind it, not to mention the cast, means it’s a prestige project."

The source added that growing global interest in British football particularly following recent international tournaments has increased demand for football-themed television dramas.

Unlike comedy series such as Ted Lasso, Day 1s is described as a drama with comedic elements.

The cast also includes British rapper Dave and newcomer Carlotta Banat.

The series is being produced by UR Marv Studios a production company launched through a collaboration between Ronaldo and filmmaker Matthew Vaughn.
