Miley Cyrus has revealed she no longer feels the weight of trying to "save the world."

The 33-year-old singer admitted that she has learned that real change comes from everyone doing their bit rather than one person carrying the burden.

She reflected on how her outlook has evolved over the years, explaining that she once believed she had to use her global platform to fix the world's biggest problems.

However, Miley now feels lasting change happens when individuals focus on making a difference in their own way.

Speaking to Wonderland magazine, the Flowers hitmaker said she is now committed to using her voice to inspire kindness and compassion, believing that positive actions can encourage others to follow suit.

The songstress also acknowledged that many people are reluctant to support social causes because they fear being criticised or saying the wrong thing.

But she insisted there is no perfect way to get involved, encouraging people to contribute however they can rather than staying silent.

The pop superstar launched the Happy Hippie Foundation in 2014, with the charity focusing on youth homelessness and other vulnerable groups.

She said the inspiration came from witnessing homelessness every day while living in Los Angeles.

Looking ahead, the Grammy winner has ambitious plans for the foundation and hopes its work will continue to grow.
