What is the link between Taylor Swift and ‘Succession’?

Taylor Swift dropped her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl on October 3 and it has already broken multiple records.

The singer on a roll to do interviews promoting her new album which is explained as an up-beat, pop record.

The pop star is also know for her meticulously planned lyricism and pop culture references which she has included on the latest record.

Explaining her song Father Figure, Taylor said it is inspired from the series, Succession.

Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the pop icon explained her songs on the new album.

Taking inspiration from the show, the song is about fictitious patriarch Logan Roy ad his children.

“It's like, protégé-mentor, and the relationship between the two, right?”, she explained.

“And the power dynamics and idea that power could flip and somebody could betray somebody, that's so fun to write.”, she further explained.

Speaking about the specific scene, she says it was the one where Logan looks at his kids and says, “I love you but you are not serious people.”

The show consists of four seasons following the life of Roy family that controls Waystar RoyCo.
