Ellen DeGeneres may have left Hollywood behind, but countryside living isn’t proving to be as peaceful as she might’ve hoped.
In a video posted to Instagram, the former daytime talk show host gave fans a hilarious glimpse into her very first attempt at mowing the lawn in the UK countryside, and it did not go smoothly.
"Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on the mower," Ellen wrote in the caption. "She was right."
The clip, filmed by wife Portia de Rossi, shows Ellen struggling to navigate a riding lawn mower up a hill.
The footage then cuts to a second scene, where someone is seen helping push the machine from behind while Ellen sits on it, laughing.
From behind the camera, Portia can barely contain her laughter, adding to the sitcom-worthy vibe of the moment.
Ellen and Portia’s big move to the UK made headlines in late 2024 following reports they quietly relocated after selling their Montecito properties.
The move came after Donald Trump’s reelection, with many speculating it was politically motivated.
"Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October," a source told People. "She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after."
The couple was later spotted enjoying a laid-back meal with friends at The Farmer’s Dog in the Cotswolds, suggesting they may have settled somewhere in the idyllic English countryside.
While Ellen hasn’t directly confirmed her reasons for the move, some believe her exit from the US echoes similar decisions made by other celebs.
