Allison Lanier confirmed the news that she is bidding farewell to the show The Young and the Restless.
On Wednesday, April 30, the 34-year-old actress confirmed the wrap-up of her three-year-long show on X, formerly Twitter.
She wrote, “Hi guys!! This Friday, May 2nd, will be my last episode on Y&R!”
The post reads, “I've loved the journey and learned so much, but it's time to grow in a different direction... very grateful for all of the Y&R fans who have supported me (heart emoji).”
Fans took over the comments section in response to Allison leaving the show.
One of the fans, while expressing sadness, commented, “This is so unfortunate. I loved seeing you on my TV screen. (emoji) I hope this isn’t the end of Summer, although the next actress will have a lot of work to do.”
Another one penned, “Oh, I hate to see you go! I hope to see you in the future on something else. Good luck!”
Since 2022, after replacing Hunter King, Lanier has portrayed the role of Summer, Phyllis and Nick's daughter. The character debuted in 2006, and plans for recasting are not clear yet.
