‘Encanto’ sequel teased by John Leguizamo

Encanto actor John Leguizamo sat down for an interview with People at the opening of Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway where he opened up about his hopes for a possible sequel.

"I'm also waiting for an Encanto 2 when all we do is talk about Bruno," he said, referring to the hit track from the movie, We Don’t Talk About Bruno.

"I'm calling them every day saying 'When is No. 2 coming?' They're trying to come up with the storyline. They're working on it," he added.

Disney has not announced any plans of making a sequel as of yet.

“The Madrigals are an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift -- every child except Mirabel. However, she soon may be the Madrigals last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger,” reads the official synopsis for the movie.

Disney and Pixar have confirmed a sequel for one of their other films though, which is Coco. It was announced by the CEO of Disney that Coco 2 is slated for a 2029 release.
